Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that focuses on strengthening the core, improving posture, and enhancing flexibility — all performed on a mat using your own body weight. Based on the original work of Joseph Pilates, this method emphasises controlled movements, breath awareness, and alignment to build strength from the inside out.
Unlike reformer Pilates, which uses equipment, Mat Pilates relies on precise, flowing movements to engage deep stabilising muscles, particularly in the abdominals, back, hips, and pelvic floor. It’s accessible to all levels and can be easily modified or progressed depending on your needs.
At The Space to Move, our classes are boutique and intentionally intimate, with a maximum of 6 participants per session. Each 55-minute class offers personalised attention in a calm, supportive environment—designed to help you move with strength, purpose and ease.

Mat Pilates
Levels 1 & 2
Strengthen your core, improve your posture and build body awareness with our Mat Pilates classes. Designed for all levels, these sessions focus on controlled movements, breathwork and alignment to help you develop strength from the inside out.
Using just a mat and your body weight (plus occasional props for added challenge or support), you’ll work through flowing sequences that target deep stabilising muscles. Whether you're looking to enhance flexibility, recover from injury, or simply move more mindfully, our experienced instructors will guide you with personalised cues and supportive energy.
